My name is Judy Chamberlain and I am the Medical Director at Schaller Anderson Medical Administrators, or SAMAI. We are proud to partner with you in service to the MaineCare member community.
SAMAI administers the MaineCare Care Management Benefit through a contract with the Office of MaineCare Services. The contract provides for care management services targeted to chronically ill MaineCare members.
Along with care management, SAMAI provides clinical services review under the MaineCare contract for the following:
- Concurrent notification and concurrent review of acute inpatient admissions and acute inpatient rehabilitation
- Home health services for adults and children
- Private duty nursing for children
- Outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy for adults
- Concurrent and restrospective review of out-of-state acute inpatient hospital stays
All reviews are conducted based on the MaineCare Benefits Manual and nationally recognized guidelines.
